Projektinformationen

The concluded project "Documentation of Gorani, an endangered language of the Kermansah province (West Iran)" focused on the documentation of the language and cultural practices of the Gorani speech community in the two villages Gawraju und Zarde. These communities are characterised by their adherence to a heterodox Islamic sect known as the Ahl-e Haqq. The purpose of the follow-up project is to document the Gorani dialect as spoken in the village of Kandule, home to the only Shiite Goran community. The project is conducted by an Iranian linguist from the University of Teheran in close collaboration with the University of Hamburg.
