Projektinformationen
The project aims at preparing the establishment of the first cross-national Georgian-German doctoral program in "Digital Humanities" as a joint endeavour of the University of Frankfurt / Main in Germany, the Ivane Javakhishvili State University of Tbilisi and the Shota Rustaveli State University of Batumi in Georgia. The thematic focus of the doctoral program will be on research into Georgia and the Caucasus region, its languages, literatures, history, and other aspects of the Humanities and Social Sciences, thus addressing disciplines such as Caucasiology, Kartvelology, Caucasian History, etc. The doctoral program is meant to be open for applicants from the partner institutions as well as other universities in both Georgia and Germany. All in all, a maximum of 30 doctoral students are envisaged to participate in the doctoral program. The preparation project is devoted to the exploration of perspectives for a cooperation with further partners both in the Caucasus and in Germany, and the preparation of the necessary juridical documents. One workshop each will be held at the three partner institutions.
