Projektinformationen

The project "Sustainability Strategy Review" will convene 15 top experts from all over the world in the field of sustainable development and practice in a series of face-to-face deliberations. The objective is to generate a synthesis of all the relevant documents about the stage of sustainable development, provide interpretations about what they mean for different areas of the world and delineate some strategies for supporting the desired transformations. These deliberations are based on a four-step process. First, the IASS as the hosting institution, collects and processes reports and literature on indicators and stage of sustainability worldwide and also for the various regions of the world. They are assisted by all the participating institutions in this effort. The product of phase 1 is a synopsis of existing reports and a list of questions. In a second step the IASS invites the experts to a one-week intensive closed meeting. During this meeting, the experts deliberate about the meaning of the existing reports, set priorities for what needs to be urgently addressed and develop some strategies for facilitating transformation processes. At the end of phase 2 the experts produce a synthesis report of their interpretations and strategy recommendations. Phase 3 includes the activity of each of the participating institutions to discuss and review the document with their specific network of scientists, practioners and stakeholders. The resulting product is a modified and amended summary report including links to implementation. Phase 4 is dedicated to dissemination and outreach. The objective here is to make the document part of the international discourse on sustainability. The first meeting of the expert group is scheduled for winter 2018/2019.
