Projektinformationen

The project aims at debunking the myth of AI as impenetrable 'black box' and at developing visual interfaces, pedagogical tools and techniques of cultural analysis for a socially-engaged and transparent understanding of AI. Since the visualisation and reverse engineering of Deep Learning inner workings is still a novel field, the project aims at proposing an innovative contribution. The project features two main focuses, that are based on the collaboration of computer science and mathematics with cognitive science and the humanities. The two focuses are: 1) how AI systems 'see' the world (via data models and statistical inference) and 2) how humans 'see' machine intelligence (via affective adaptation and anthropomorphization). The final result is the design of new tools of visualisation and navigation of AI inner models, a publication on the psychological and social impact of AI statistical models and a presentation conference in preparation for the second stage of the "AI and the Society of the Future" application.
