Projektinformationen

In this project, two mathematicians and one epidemiologist will put their forces together to understand the fundamental dynamics behind the spread of epidemics. The key result will be a thorough theoretical and empirical treatment of a newly developed class of models that account explicitly for social structures as well as the mobility of individuals. The interplay of these two factors has not been recongnised and studied before, and the findings will enable us to perform a fine evaluation of the effectiveness of containment measures.
