The central idea of this senior project is to question how the new ongoing political context or the new rapport de force now affects the dynamic of former militias as well as dozos' involvement in land management in Cote d'Ivoire.This problematic of Ivorian western youth' emergence in land governance remains an unexplored research field. It would be of a heuristic importance to sociologically show the state of the evolution of this new societal fact the renewal of the state authorities after the post-electoral crisis of 2011. The research is based on the assumption that the emergence of former militia men and eventually the dozos, which could be accompanied by possible erosion of elders' authority over land, has implications for land rights, for how they are distributed across persons and social groups, and for a range of other political and social outcomes that are of great significance for Ivorian western societies. The Fellow posits that the affirmation of youthful actors (former militia men and dozos) in land control may conduct to reshaping land tenure system and "land security" termed by Lorenzo Cotula as the "degree of confidence that an individual or group has not to be arbitrarily deprived from his land property rights or from economic benefits linked to that land" (Cotula 2006:10). The thematic of young men' affirmation as land managers would be an innovative finding even if the land tenure system has long been at the heart of generational tensions in western Côte d'Ivoire.
