Projekt

The initiative approaches discursive, institutional, and material processes and practices that generate and transform the boundaries and interior structures of the Religious in a historically well-founded and cross-cultural way. The period investigated encompasses the time from antiquity to modern age. Characteristic strengths of the initiative are the expertise in comparative religious studies across the ages, competence in regional studies with special focus on Europe and the Mediterranean area as well as Southern and Eastern Asia, and the width of theoretical and methodical approaches in religious studies combined at the Forum for Interdisciplinary Religious Studies.
