Projektinformationen

The project partners intend to establish a structured doctoral program in Georgia in the framework of a "research training group system (Promotionskolleg)" to enhance young graduates in the field of sustainable agricultural and food systems. Under the Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems (SAFS) structured doctoral research program, young graduates will be trained under multi-faced supervisions by engaging in inter-/transdisciplinary research approaches by merging international and national senior researchers, career development with soft-skills, and national and international opportunities in academic mobility. The SAFS aims to achieve a long-term and well-structured third cycle education program with excellence in research and productive applications to "end-users" such as farmers, consumers, and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the agricultural and food sector. In the initiation stage it is planned to advance the concepts, learning materials, study curriculum and research components (6 Modules with 5 credits each), to establish the fundamental technical infrastructure, to connect the possible human resources and to develop direct and e-supervision systems to connect consistently linkage between junior researchers (PhD candidates) and senior scientists (supervisors). Measurable and verifiable outcomes and the project milestones will be the exchange of best practices and challenges in structured doctoral programs in Germany, understanding of the current challenges and demands on the continuation of high quality doctoral research program, improving targeted development of program administrative protocol and learning structures, and improving and training human and technical infrastructures and the further collective actions to continue the program (ToT).
