Projektinformationen

With this project we plan to develop a board game which take situations or events from Islamic history in the Mediterranean as a background, largely situated in the 10th century CE. We will develop the game in cooperation with Dennis A. Siefer, a current MA student in our department with considerable experience in game development. The board game will be playable without knowledge of the historical background. However, they aim to arouse interest and curiosity in the historical events that constitute the background of the game. This curiosity can then be satisfied through an accompanying visually appealing booklet that we will develop together with the game in cooperation with an external freelance editor. We will integrate the game development and the writing of the booklet into our Islamic Studies teaching program at the Asia Africa Institute of the University of Hamburg.
