From Modeling and Analysis to Approximation

Initiative: Trilaterale Partnerschaften – Kooperationsvorhaben zwischen Wissenschaftler(inne)n aus der Ukraine, Russland und Deutschland
Bewilligung: 06.12.2019
Laufzeit: 3 Jahre

Projektinformationen

The mathematical problems to be tackled range from the elastic behavior of biological materials over inverse problems for partial di?erential equations like the wave equation to the discretization of the resulting equations, e. g. as graphs or by hands of one- and multi-dimensional wavelets. The heart of the project consists of collaborations between Russian and Ukrainian scientists at the German host institutions. Each of the German host institutions will have one Russian and one Ukrainian research group as major partner. The concept of the project with the two conferences and in particular the winter school aims at a wider impact which will benefit Ph.D.- students and young researchers, especially at the German host institutions. Finally, methods, models and numerical procedures devised in collaboration will help to gain insight in biological and biomedical applications.
