Projektinformationen
With the long-term aim of contributing to the modernization of legal research and teaching in Uzbekistan and in Central Asia more generally, the project shall engage in knowledge transfer and capacity building. Implemented by a transnational dialogue among equals and adopting an interdisciplinary perspective, it will pursue innovative research and promote the internationalization of the involved institutions. It shall help perpetuate the relations between German and Central Asian legal academia, strengthen and expand networks, yield academic publications and establish institutions with an impact that extends beyond the duration of the project itself. There are three interdependent components to the project: 1. a junior research group, consisting of Dr. Kudratov as a group leader and five doctoral students from Central Asia, 2. a continuous capacity-building program for young researchers from Central Asia, consisting of three summer schools as well as various offers of instruction throughout the year, 3. three symposia, organized alongside the summer schools and intended to engage a wider community in a scientific exchange. The project will have two centers, one at the University of Tashkent, where it will become an integral part of Faculty for International Law and Comparative Law and act as the new hub of an established network of partner universities from Central Asian region, the second one at the University of Regensburg, where it will become an integral part of the newly established Department of Interdisciplinary and Multiscalar Area Studies (DIMAS), and cooperate with a number of research institutions working on the same region (IOR, IOS and GSOSES).
