Projektinformationen
In this project we address the question of how local political initiatives enact citizenship and solidarity 'from below'. With ten city-based case studies (in Denmark, Germany, Italy, Slovenia, and Switzerland), we analyze initiatives in the fields of migrants' rights, housing and care work. Communicating our research results, we want to share innovative approaches of political initiatives enacting citizenship and solidarity and the ways how these initiatives a) refer to urban spaces and municipalities, b) relate intersectionally to each other across social fields and c) network with each other across cities and national borders. To further strengthen the public dimension of this research and to facilitate a dialogical process of collaborative knowledge production in cooperation with our partners European Alternatives and Kornhausforum, we have developed a threefold participatory science communication approach, consisting of 1) transurban labs, 2) a handbook, and 3) exhibitions.
