Projektinformationen
The extension phase of the project is aimed at completing the analyses of recovered research datasets, undertake further detailed archival research at the Public Records Office in London, as well as conduct ethnographic and archaeological research at three German colonial rest-stop sites (Nkonya, Hohoe and Amedzofe) in the western half of the then German Togoland or present day Volta Region of Ghana. Moreover, the extension phase of the project will focus on the conduct of conference/workshops to further strengthen the scholastic collaboration with scholars in Togo, Germany and other areas in Africa (e.g., Namibia, Cameroun and Tanzania) having German colonial heritage. This is meant to enhance the exchange of ideas on the shared German/African colonial heritage in our respective countries. Above all, the second year of this extension phase will be geared towards mounting museum exhibitions on the archaeological and anthropological findings of the project in select project sites and museums in Ghana, Togo and Germany (esp. Berlin & Hannover).
