Projektinformationen

This communication project brings together the results of two research projects and presents them jointly in the form of an exhibition for a non-scientific audience. The first research project examined, from a public health perspective, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic for everyday life in German collective accommodation facilities for refugees. The second research project ethnographically examined the situation of seafarers in German ports during the pandemic. These projects have two things in common: Both deal with international migrant populations, and both are concerned with how their lives (and work), especially during the pandemic, have been forcibly confined to a narrow space. The focus of this project is to communicate to the public how pandemic-related measures affected these population groups, enabling outsiders to experience, in the form of a travelling exhibition, what life was like during the pandemic for people who were forced into confined institutionalized spaces.
